The first email came from Bob on October 11, 2016.
I purchased a Yamaha FG-360 that I found on Craig's List
in Lincoln, NE in September 2016. I paid $100. In my
subjective non-expert opinion, it sounds great!
The 8 digit serial number is: 50719105
There is a number inside at the neck joint: 0624?? the
last two digits are worn, only the top of the digits
remain and could be either 0,9, or 8. There is no
visible trace of a seventh digit, but it could have
completely worn away.
Portions of the top around the inside of the sound hole
have worn through the finish reveling the raw wood and I
do not see any indication of lamination.
According to the US Dept. of Labor, the retail price of
$376 in 1975 is the equivalent of $1683 in 2016 when
adjusted for inflation.
Thanks David for your work in compiling and presenting
information on this instrument.
