I was first contacted by
Scott on April 1, 2020. This FG-360 would be the 76th Japanese model
that we know of
and number 120 overall. David, I bought this FG-360 from Nagano Japan, made June 19, 1973 and not for export. Green label Nippon Gakki serial number 30619. The fingerboard is rosewood. The frets have about 85% remaining. The string height is 2.7mm on the 6th string and 2.1mm on the 1st string at the 12th fret. Top / Spruce Side & Back / Coral rosewood Neck / African mahogany Finger Board / Rosewood Bridge / Rosewood Plays great and sounds great. Scott Ferguson Our thanks to Scott for contacting us. Note: In a subsequent conversation with Scott, he clarified that this guitar was purchased in early 2020 through eBay from a music store in Japan. It is actually a guitar that was exported to the USA. Not much is known about its history. We are surmising that it somehow ended up back in Japan. We know of another guitar with a similar situation, a 5 digit serial number that was exported to the US but ended up back in Japan. It is likely that a US serviceman who was stationed there took it to Japan with him. While there, he sold or traded it and it didn't make the trip back to America with him.
