I was first contacted by
Jack on February 28, 2021. This FG-360 would be the 36th Taiwanese model
that we know of and number 143 overall.
Hello,
My name is Jack Werder and in 1974 I bought a Yamaha
FG-360. I saw your post about your FG and decided to get some info
about mine! It's my go-to axe for parties, camp fires, etc! I also
have a 1990 Martin D35 which I love, but I have to say if I had to
get rid of one, it would be so long Martin! I believe it's a Taiwan
built, SN I think, is 497019, because I had it voiced in 1976 by a
local luthier, and it's been sanded a bit and is quite faded. There
is another # on the neck block, which I have no idea what it stands
for, it is 0632976. I beat the hell out of that guitar for well over
40 yrs and it keeps sounding better and better! It actually fell off
a pickup truck going 50 mph and didn't go out of tune! lol Thanks
for any info you would have about it! I'm in Hilton, NY btw.
Thanks again, Jack
Our thanks to Jack for contacting us.
Webmaster's note:
The serial number provided does not make sense because it does not
fit in Yamaha's numbering sequence. It is so faded, however,
that the correct number can not be determined.
