David,
I just stumbled across your web site last night. I too am
the owner of a Yamaha FG-360 guitar. I am the original
owner, as far as I know. I purchased the guitar and a hard
shell case in March of 1977 from Hampshire Music Co, Inc. in
Nashua NH for $228 + $70 for the case. The serial number is
40116. While I haven't picked up the guitar in many, many
years. I have kept in its case in a temperature controlled
room. There is some very slight checking in the finish on
the back. It has the solid backed tuners. I have been told
that the guitar has a wonderfully warm sound. Some folks
compared it to their Martins.
