I was first contacted by Matthew on July 14, 2017.  This FG-360 is the 19th Taiwanese model we know of and number 76 overall.

Good afternoon,

Ran across your page today, doing some research on a FG-360 that's been handed down to me.  I’ve had the guitar in my possession for about 20 years, and my understanding is that my grandmother acquired it in Virginia sometime in the 70s.  I also have a few Gibsons, one a hummingbird, same story.

The FG-360 is in great condition, however the action is terribly high.  I haven't been brave enough to adjust the truss rod, as I have no experience in that and fear causing damage.   Mine is a China model, but my serial number is very faded.  Pic is attached, and I believe the number reads 40322255.  The 4 is very questionable, I can only see what looks like the top of a "4".  I pulled the strings off today to get a better pic of the serial number for you.

The number inside, at the neck is 0675353 and is very clear.  The FG sticker inside is tan color.

I always keep this one strings tuned down and in the case.  I have other high end models I play all the time, but drag this one out occasionally and am always surprised at the sound of this old box.  Like you said, I'll take mine camping or someplace I probably won't be playing with others and don't want to risk a Martin or Taylor out in the elements.  But mostly it just stays put up.  I am hydrating some other older guitars at the moment and brought the FG out just to check it, and it's great.  Couldn't remember the details on it so looked it up, found your page, and thought I would share since you're doing some research.  Not sure if mine is of any interest or help to you, but hopefully so.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience with these!

Webmaster's note:  In subsequent conversations with Matthew, we have determined that the third digit in the s/n is an 8.  This is significant because, at this point, his guitar is now the first one we know of built in Taiwan.

Our thanks to Matthew for contacting us.
