I was contacted about this guitar by Paul Roberts on January 26, 2017 on behalf of Kimberly McDonald, the owner. Her FG-360 is the 46th, 5-digit Japanese model we know of and number 68 overall.
hi, my name is Paul Roberts, recently a friend of mine
father passed away and left her an Yamaha FG-360. She
asked me to research this guitar for her. I stumbled
across your page and found it to be interesting as well
as helpful. I took a telescopic mirror and looked
inside. I found the 5 digit number just as you had
explained it was located. the number on this guitar is
40308. if I understand correctyly it was manufactured
on March 08, 1974. This is still a beautiful guitar and
has a wonderful sound.
I was unable to find any other numbers inside of body.
It does have the tan colored decal with Nippon-Gakki
mfg. Made in Japan. Under the label it has a N.K. stamp
on verticle splice plate.
If you could share any other info on this guitar I would
greatly appreciate it. Also, do you know value range on
these guitars. She does not plan to sale it because of
sentimintle value, but monitary value is questioned.
thank you very much,
Paul Roberts
Our thanks to Paul for contacting us.
