I was first contacted by
Stacy on May 24, 2020. This FG-360 would be the 80th Japanese model
that we know of
and number 125 overall. Hello Dave, Greetings from Boise, Idaho! I was doing a little idle searching about the guitar my father, Val Lane, gave me a few years ago, and came across your post about the FG-360. He played it often when I was growing up, and told me how he purchased it when he worked for Hammer and Ohrt Music in Red Bluff, Ca. Hammer and Ohrt was run by his neighbor and mentor, Herbie Hammer. Sadly, my father has developed arthritis in his hands and thumbs, and can't play any longer. Luckily, he taught me how to play when I was a teenager. I have really been enjoying it. It is a beautiful sounding instrument. I've included some information that might be of interest to you. The serial number is 31117. The label on the inside says YAMAHA FG-360 NIPPON GAKKI CO., LTD MADE IN JAPAN and there is NK stamped below that. I've included a few pictures here for your reference (don't worry, the fireplace is not operational and I am way too scared too keep it in the guitar stand...it lives in the very cushy original case when it is not being played.) The case itself is bit beat up and could use a deep clean, but is very solid and plush inside. It has a lock on the front (key long since gone) and feet on the bottom. I'm not sure if this is 'the one' that came with the guitar, or if Dad was able to get it because he worked at the music store. Please let me know if there are any other pictures or information that would be helpful for you. I'd be happy to ask my father more about it, if you'd like. Kind regards, Stacy Lane Our thanks to Stacy for contacting us.
