I was first contacted by Tom on November 12, 2019. This
FG-360 would be the 73rd Japanese model that we know of
and number 114 overall. Hello, Just came across your website, and wanted to share the details of my Yamaha 360 Nippon Gakki. The Serial Number is 405092. My dad purchased this in 74 or 75 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and then passed it down to me. I’m 32, and I played it as my primary instrument from middle school through high school and part of college. He said he remembers that the guitar was priced affordably, but still more expensive than basic/entry level instruments at the time. It’s a beautiful guitar, the set up makes it more challenging to play than some of today’s modern cut instruments, but overall it’s really nice. Unfortunately the guitar will be going to a new owner shortly, as I’m downsizing the number of instruments we have! Researching price points is what led me to your site. I sent Tom an email looking for some clarification on the serial number and a second email was received in response. Thanks David! The last number here looks written in but I didn't notice that until just now. It could be 5 digits for sure. I don't know why it would have been written in though...I sold it for $165 to a guitar shop, but he gave me more value towards the discount on the new one too. I'd say it probably would have been about a $210 trade Our thanks to Tom for contacting us.
