Marcia's Retirement Banquet
... June 8, 2012
Friday June 8, 2012, was the evening of Marcia's Retirement Banquet.
After over 30 years of teaching at Gouverneur Central School, the time
had come. She had been at East Side Elementary School since October
1982. She had spent some time subbing at Richville and Fowler
schools prior to that.
Also honored at the banquet was Kathy Moses, a music teacher who
had been at GCS about 11 years. Many people turned out at Gentry's
Restaurant to honor Marcia and three co-workers spoke on her behalf,
Pat Williams, Gina Caldwell and Paula Bates. David, Kristin and
her friend Mel were there, as were Miranda and Aaron. David Jr.
called his mother as we were on the way to the banquet to give her his
best wishes. He had already planned on competing in a "tough
mudder" competition before the date of the banquet was announced
and he was in Colorado for that.
