Anna Maria Island

On Friday, February 28, knowing we were heading out of Davenport the next day, we decided to head toward the Gulf Coast for a day to look around.  It was a totally unplanned day and we just drove.  We discovered Anna Maria Island, a quaint little resort community on an island just south of Tampa Bay.  On FL 64 heading out to the island, there is a well maintained beach area with covered picnic pavilions.  We stopped there and had a picnic lunch before heading out to the island.
