Georgia on
the way to Florida ... January 2014
We spent a couple of nights with Ken and Charlene
Hanson in Flowery Branch GA. They live in Georgia, but own the
property next to us on Pillar Point. We left their place after
breakfast Sunday morning and took a short drive to Atlanta where we
spent the day with Michael Shaw, an old friend that used to work
with Marcia in Gouverneur. He now works for the Dekalb County
School District in the Atlanta area. The three of us went into
Atlanta to tour the Red Brick Brewing Company, formerly the Atlanta
Brewing Company.
We left at about 7 AM the next morning, headed for
Lake Placid, Florida, and the home of Pat and Gail O'Connor, who
live next door to us (on the opposite side from Hanson's) on Pillar
Point. We took some pictures of the early morning Atlanta
skyline on the way out. By the way, Atlanta was hit by a snow
and ice storm within a day or so which tied the whole area up for a
couple of days. Our timing was perfect!
