Circle B Bar Ranch

The Circle B Bar Ranch is a former cattle ranch that is now jointly owned by the Polk County Board Of County Commissioners and the Southwest Florida Water Management District.  According to several websites it is 1267 acres of protected land that houses Polk's Nature Discovery Center and is home to a myriad of wildlife, including mammals, birds, reptiles, insects and butterflies as well as a variety of plants, trees and shrubs.

On our first visit there on February 13, we saw many different types of birds, including a bald eagle, as well as several armadillos.  We returned on the 18th and also saw turtles and several alligators.  We are not talking about caged creatures here.  These gators are in the wild and not all that far from the paths.  This place is a wealth of nature.
