Oak Ridge Equestrian Area

Because one of us thinks the other needs exercise, we often go out to nature areas to walk.  We had a few cool days in a row so we hadn't ventured out for this type of activity in a while.  January 21 was a nice, sunny day, with temps in the lower 70s so we took the short drive south of Tippecanoe to the Lower Hillsborough Wilderness Preserve, Oak Ridge Equestrian Area.  This is a 1000 acre nature preserve only a few miles from us with hiking/walking/equestritan trails.  Usually in these regions you will see quite a bit of wildlife but we didn't see anything on our walk.  Just as we were leaving, we did see two young ladies riding horses but those were the only animals we saw.  Also, one of the trails that we came back on would probably have been easier to traverse if we had swum it!  There was about 1/4 of well over ankle deep water on the trail and beside it where we had to go through the brush off the trail to stay dry.  We probably won't go back to this one!
