Cherry Pocket
In what has become another one of our
Florida traditions, a group of us we call the North
Country Connection, have dinner together at least once a
winter at the Cherry Pocket. This is a fish camp
just east of Winter Haven. This group of
friends grew up in the Watertown area and went to school
with David. Three of these
couples now live full-time in Florida, one couple in
Zephyrhills, one in Plant City and one in Leesburg.
The rest all winter in Florida. Last year only
three couples were involved and we went on January 7,
our anniversary. This year there were seven
couples. It happened that we went on Valentine's
Day and Miranda and Aaron were visiting at the time.
Unfortunately, one couple, Gary & Carol Wilcox could not
attend because Gary was working at the Florida State
Fair.
