NY Yankee Game
On Friday, March 15, 2019, we went on a
tour bus to see a NY Yankee games in Tampa.
Steinbrenner Field is the spring training home of the
Yankees and is not far from us. This trip was
organized by a resident of Grand Horizons. This is
a community in Zephyrhills where our friends Gary and
Carl Wilcox live. In addition to Marcia and me,
Carol was on the bus, as were Dick and Connie Kingsbury.
All things considered, it was a fun
time. The temperature had to be close to 90 and we
were in the direct sun so it was somewhat of an
uncomfortable day. The big thing we were looking
forward to was that the Yanks were playing the World
Champion Boston Red Sox so we were looking forward to a
great game.
The Sox didn't show! The second
batter in the Yankee line-up was Aaron Judge, the right
fielder. He hammered a double down the right field
line his first time up in the first inning and then
blasted a three-run homer in his second at bat.
The Yanks had two, five run innings and never looked
back. Most of the starters for both teams were out
by the fourth inning. The final score was 14-1.
