Hawaii ... The flight home

The girls dropped us off at the Honolulu airport around 8:15 PM, Friday evening, October 31, for our 10:15 departure.  Check in was very smooth.  After checking our bag and going through security, we had some pizza for dinner and waited.  Our flight was on-time and we were on our way back across the Pacific for the mainland.  We landed in Phoenix ahead of schedule the next morning and grabbed some breakfast at a McDonald's there.  The flight to Philadelphia was slightly delayed because of a congestion problem in Philly.  That seemed to be a popular trend!  After dinner in the Philly airport we waited for the flight to Watertown.  This was delayed 46 minutes because of a "delay in a prior flight".  We later found out that the plane we were flying on was delayed in its previous voyage.  The plane rolled up to the gate when the gate display said "boarding starts in 2 minutes"!  This leg was fairly uneventful, although we did have some turbulence coming into Watertown because of the wind.  Originally scheduled to land at 7:55 PM, we touched down around 8:40 and we were back at the house before 9 PM.

Because our Honolulu to Phoenix flight was during the night, we didn't bother bringing a camera.  As it turned out, we did see the sunrise coming into Phoenix so we probably should have.  The last leg to Watertown was also after dark, so we didn't have the camera out then.  All of our pictures were from the Phoenix to Philly leg.  It was a fairly clear day and even from 31,000 feet, we could see the ground most of the time.  If we hadn't been sitting over the wing, we could probably have gotten some nicer shots.
