Hawaii ... Nico's Pier 38

On Monday, October 27, after visiting Pali Lookout, we drove down into Honolulu and had lunch at Nico's Pier 38.  This is a popular eatery on the water in the port section of town that was once featured on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives.  It was good but somewhat of a disappointment.  Guy Fieri usually raves about things prepared for this show and we were expecting something beyond excellent.  We both had a fish sandwich with fries that, according to the menu, was one of the menu items featured on Triple D.  Rather than a fried or broiled fish sandwich like you usually get, this was a ground fish patty, along the lines of a salmon patty.  It was tasty but both of ours were extremely watery, to the point of not being able to eat the bun because it was so soggy.  I guess we don't have Fieri's palate!
