Hawaii ... Pacific Aviation Museum

On Wednesday, October 29, we drove to the Pacific Aviation Museum, which is located on Ford Island in Pearl Harbor.  There are many displays detailing the attack on Pearl Harbor, along with several vintage airplanes that have been significant in military history.  One of the display buildings is a hangar that was there during the attack on December 7, 1941, complete with windows that were broken during the explosions and bullet holes in the glass and the walls.

As you cross the bridge onto Ford Island, you pass within sight of the USS Arizona memorial and the battleship USS Missouri Memorial.  It was on this battleship that Japan surrendered ending WWII.
