Hanauma Bay ... June 12, 2016

Our loop around Oahu finished up with a few stops along the south shore, including the facility at Hanauma Bay.  This is a state park and nature preserve at an area that highlights the lava formations and marine ecosystem.  Although we didn't bring our snorkeling gear this trip, this is supposed to be a premier snorkel and scuba location.  It is a beautiful location and we even saw some of Rikki Tikki Tavi's offspring there.

There is a charge for admission and parking here but it was late in the day and that had been suspended by that time.  In fact, as we were leaving the personnel was waiting to lock the gate for the night.
