Our trip to Ireland ...
September 2012
Day 6 ... Saturday, September 22
We had breakfast at the Granville Hotel in Waterford and then
got on the bus for a day of touring. We visited the Rock of
Cashel. The GoAhead brochure promotes this as "an
outcrop of limestone dominating the surrounding Tipperary
Plain. On this rock stand the ruins of the ancient seat of
the kings of Munster." This included St. Patrick's
Rock, St. Patrick's Cathedral and Cormac's Chapel.
We then returned to Waterford and the four of us ate lunch at a
little deli. Tom guided us on a tour of Waterford, which
included a visit and tour of the Waterford Crystal plant and
store. After that, we went with Jack Bushill, a local guide,
on a walking touring of the city. We had dinner with Paul,
Gail, Bob and Donna and then returned to the hotel bar for a
Smithwicks or two.
These photos were taken in Cashel, Tipperary and Waterford.
