Yamaha Golf Cart
|
Although our park in Florida is not terribly large, we decided we
needed a golf cart. This wasn't so much to get around as it was
to transport things. Marcia attends a quilt group once a week
and often takes her sewing maching and supplies. David plays at
the jam session every other Sunday and takes guitars, amps and a few
other items. It just seemed easier to move these things in a
cart than to pack the car or truck up each time.
In early
January 2017, we started looking around. We went to a couple of
places but weren't quite sure what we wanted to do. We mentioned
this to a friend in the park from the north country who had bought a
cart a month or so earlier. We went to Jim Crandell Sales in
Zephyrhills. We sat down with him and he designed the cart based
on our color and option choices. When he gave us the price, we
decided to do it. Our cart is built on a refurbished 2013 Yamaha
chassis with gas engine. Everything else is completely new, 2017
equipment, or so we thought.
As it turns out, there were a
number of issues on this machine. The carburator, fuel line and
electrical system all were iffy. A friend in the park rectified
these for me. It now runs better than ever. At some point,
I plugged an invertor into the power point and immediately the 40 Amp
fuse popped. I discovered it was wired backward! I fixed
that and now that is working properly.
The manufacturer calls the color sky, basically a
powder blue. It has a matching roof with retracting rain
curtains, horn, chrome rims and steering wheel. The head, tail
and brakelights and turn signals are all LED. The rear seat
flips back to do double duty as an equipment hauler. We have
some ideas for accessorizing it and that will be done at some point.
