Byodo-In Temple ... June 9, 2016

On Thursday, June 9, the five of us drove toward the east side of Oahu to the Byodo-In Temple.  This is a non-denominational temple located in an area known as the Valley of the Temples on Oahu.  It is a replica of a Buddist Temple dedicated in 1968 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the first Japanese immigrants to Hawaii.  It is a fairly popular attraction in that area.

We took a number of pictures there, including some of a waterfall.  Actually this is only about five feet tall and probably man-made.  We also bought an original painting done by Daniel Want, a deaf Japanese artist that now lives in Honolulu.

After visiting here, we drove back to Joint Base PHH and had dinner at Sam Choy's, one of our favorite spots on the island.
