Flight to Hawaii ... May 30,
2016
On Monday, May 30, we arrived at the
Watertown Airport at about 6 AM for a 7:05 flight.
We had checked our bag and hadn't even gotten through
TSA yet when we got a text that the flight had been
cancelled until 8:00. As we went through TSA we
asked about it and they hadn't even been notified yet.
There was some kind of a problem on the plane with the
weather radar system. It was almost 8:30 by the
time were in the air. Our concern was that we only
had about a 1-3/4 hour layover in Philadelphia.
They were already boarding by the time we got there but
we did make it. The first leg, and the second leg
to Phoenix were both very good. Things were fairly
smooth and the skies were, for the most part clear.
We also had a window seat on both of
those flights. On the flight to Honolulu, it
wasn't as clear and we didn't have access to the window
to take pictures. As we descended into Honolulu,
things did clear but without that window seat, we
couldn't take pictures. It's too bad because we
came in within sight of Ford Island, Pearl Harbor, the
USS Arizona and so on.
Mel picked us up at the airport and we
were at their home by shortly after 6 PM, their time.
We got there a lot earlier than the last time we
visited, but it had still been over 19 hours since our
alarm went off. We called it a short night!
The first 23 pictures were from the
first leg, Watertown to Philadelphia. Photos 24-44
were from the Philly to Phoenix flight.
