Marcia was a remedial math and reading
teacher at the Gouverneur
Central School's East Side Elementary School for over 30 years.
She joined the faculty there in 1982 and retired in 2012.
She was born in Gouverneur and raised in Edwards and graduated from
the Edwards Central
School. She received an BA in Elementary Education in 1979
and a Master's Degree as a Reading Specialist in 1980, both from
SUNY Potsdam.
Marcia enjoys reading, gardening, traveling
and lighthouses. A licensed
radio amateur (ham
radio operator), she holds the call KB2DMN. She is now a member
of the board of directors at the Dexter Library and participates in
the jam session held each week in Dexter.
We have recently posted pictures of both her
retirement banquet and
retirement party.
Since retiring, she has gotten into sewing and quilting.
Pictures of her projects can
be found here.
