In May 2004,
we bought this 2003 Sprinter Fifth Wheel camper. It was new
at the time, having not been sold during 2003. We already
owned a 3/4 ton, 2002 Chevrolet Silverado extended cab pick-up
with all of the 5th wheel towing equipment, so it was a logical
choice. This unit had a double slide and was definitely the most
spacious and nicest unit we ever owned. Ironically, we
bought the Pillar Point property soon
after this so we only made a few trips with it. We went to
Allen's campground in Sackets Harbor on Memorial
Day week-end and July 4th and then towed it to
the Turning Stone Resort in Verona, New York,
for a Hurley family get together. We then
took it to the cottage when we closed on August
24, 2004 and it basically
served as our summer home until 2006 while we were rebuilding
the cottage.
This rig actually had very few miles on it by
the time we sold it to a retired farmer from
Lewis County in the spring of 2007. Since it sold on consignment
through a local dealer, we never actually met
him. When Marcia retires, we will get
another RV and head out cross country.
